Have you recently installed Windows XP Home or Professional Edition and having a hard time getting used to the new desktop interface and Start Menu?
Face it. Old habits are hard to break and we've become used to several versions of Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT, and Windows 2000. Then along comes Windows XP and the desktop appears completely different along with a new Start Menu configuration.
There is a way to toggle your new Windows XP desktop and Start Menu interface back to a more familiar look.
It's as simple as right-clicking on your "Start" button and selecting "Properties" and the resulting "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" window will be displayed.

Now all you have to do is click to select the "Classic Start menu" radio button on the "Start Menu" tab and then click the "Apply" button. If you want to further customize your "Start menu", then click the "Customize" button and the resulting "Customize Classic Start Menu" properties window will be displayed.

From this window you'll notice that there are even even more changes you can make to the way your "Start Menu" will appear.
If you want to restore your Windows XP look and feel, simply click to select the "Start Menu" radio button back on the "Start Menu" tab of the "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" window and then click the "Apply" button.
Have fun!
