Some people want to take computer security to extremes beyond virus protection, cracker intrusion, SpyWare elimination, and anonymous internet browsing.
We came across another handy utility that appears to be effective in removing quite a number of MRUs (Most Recently Used) items from your computer.
Before we get to the download, let's define what an MRU is and what it is doing on your computer.
An MRU, abbreviation for Most Recently Used, is a list containing names and locations of files that you, or your computer has used recently. These MRUs can be stored in at least sixteen (16) different locations on your computer.
For example, click on your "Start" button and select "Run" then click the downpointing arrow just to the right of the "Open" line. If you have used any commands from here recently such as a "command" prompt or even the registry editor (No! I will not tell you the Registry Editor Command), they will be listed here.

Another example can be found by clicking the downpointing arrow in the "Address" line of your Internet Browser. Of course, this MRU can be deleted by dumping all of your history files in your internet browser tools options. But wouldn't it be great if you could have one little utility to whack all of your computer's MRUs out of existence or be able to selectively pick which ones to eliminate?
Why would anyone want to get rid of their MRUs? Well, I'll leave that to your own imagination. Those of you who do want to cover your tracks know full well what your motivations are. So that being said, let's get on with the download.
You can download "MRU Blaster" from the following website:
After you install "MRU Blaster", the main program window will look like this:

Before you press the "Scan" button, you should click the "Settings" button and deselect any MRU items that you want to keep on your computer.

You can also click the "Go To Plugins" button to load other Plugins in "MRU Blaster" that will provide a "Cookie Blaster" and a "IE Temporary File Cleaner" both of which use "Secure File Shredding" technology.
"MRU Blaster" even comes with a "Scheduler" feature that lets you set it to run in the background so you won't have to manually run your scans.
