Internet Explorer Tip - What Was That Site I Visited Yesterday?
(Please click on Legal Stuff before using this Tip of The Week.)
Sometimes we visit an interesting website and forget to add it to our "Favorites". Then a day or two goes by and we have a hard time remembering where that website was located.
There is an easy way to look up websites that you have recently visited!
If you use Microsoft's Internet Explorer to browse the internet and have one of the latest versions, then you should first check to see how far back your browser is set to retain its' history files.
Click on menu "Tools -> Internet Options" to open the resulting window:
In this example, the history is set to retain files for three (3) days. You can adjust this up or down to your preference. The history files will retain copies of website pages you have visited and then allow you to search for websites within the specified period.
After you have verified your history settings, go ahead and close the Internet Options window.
Next, click on the "History" button on your Internet Explorer toolbar or click on menu "View -> Explorer bar -> History" and it will open a sidebar similar to the one shown below:
Notice the two buttons called "View" and "Search" located within the "History" sidebar. Go ahead and click on them and you'll discover various methods for arranging and even searching for pages your browser has visited within the period you specified to maintain in the history files.
