Something for everyone.

No one can dispute that the human brain is the greatest computer of all time! But sometimes it requires a little nudge to grow new cells. I also happen to believe that hardware computers are very useful tools which can help to provide that nudge. That's why this newsletter is not just full of computer-related information, but also includes entertainment and educational items to tickle the brain cells. There's something of interest for everyone in here so feel free to share this issue and pass it along to your friends and family...

What's In Here?

Lots of cool, fun, and informative stuff every week!
I'm dubbing this week's issue the Nathan Hale Edition. On this day in 1776, General George Washington asks for a volunteer for an extremely dangerous mission: to gather intelligence behind enemy lines before the coming Battle of Harlem Heights. Captain Nathan Hale of the 19th Regiment of the Continental Army stepped forward and subsequently become one of the first known American spies of the Revolutionary War. Our Ctrl-Alt-Backspace section includes special click-links to transport you to educational and informational websites about Nathan Hale.

LiveDocuments promises Office collaboration without a server
"One of the big selling points of the "Web 2.0" hype machine is actually an old, old feature: the idea that users can collaborate on documents that are shared over a network. This killer application was first demonstrated by Douglas Engelbart in 1968, but it took many decades before computers got small and powerful enough and the Internet became ubiquitous enough for the idea to have a chance at the mass market." Add gigabytes by reducing disk space for XP's System Restore

"Every so often, you're going to need an emergency capacity boost on a Windows XP system, especially with single-drive DAS systems, such as those found on desktops or laptops. These systems are often "managed" not by storage administrators but by individual users, who have been known to ignore warning signs until they're flat out of space." Click to read entire article...
