Welcome to
another issue of our weekly newsletter!
Something
for everyone.
No
one can dispute that the human brain is the greatest computer of all
time! But sometimes it requires a little nudge to grow new
cells. I also happen to
believe that hardware computers are very useful tools
which can
help to provide that nudge. That's why this
newsletter is not just full of computer-related information, but also
includes entertainment and educational items to tickle the brain cells.
There's something of interest for everyone in here so feel free to
share this issue and pass it along to your
friends and family...
What's In Here?
Lots of cool,
fun, and
informative stuff every week!
I'm dubbing this
week's issue
the Henry Ford Edition.
On this date in 1896 and at approximately 1:30 a.m., Henry Ford
test-drove his Quadricycle, the first automobile he ever designed or
drove. Our Ctrl-Alt-Backspace
section includes special click-links to transport you
to educational and informational websites
about this significant American entrepreneur.

these links to go

"This site, which features Flash-based games starring Peep and his
friends, entices three-to-five-year-olds to explore science. While kids
may be having too much fun to realize it, these games will help them
learn to estimate distances, mix colors, exercise their memory, and
explore basic physics. The site also includes a collection of science

Artistry
Artistry is a vector-based drawing program, like CorelDraw® or
Adobe Illustrator® from the proprietary software world. Artistry
loads and saves subsets of SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) format, a
standard maintained by the WWW consortium. There are rectangles,
ellipses, text items, bitmap images and freehand curves. As an added
bonus both vector and bitmap objects can have alpha transparency and
can be arbitrarily transformed.

"Henry drove his
vehicle to his father's farm to show it off. His father apparently
walked around it cautiously. Later he expressed his doubts to one of
his neighbors: "John and William (Henry's brothers) are all right, but
Henry worries me. He doesn't seem to settle down, and I don't know
what's going to become of him."
