That's why this newsletter is not just full of computer-related information, but also includes entertainment and educational items to tickle the brain cells. There's something of interest for everyone in here so feel free to share this issue and pass it along to your friends and family...

"Whilst looking to get better access to a hotspot at my girlfriend's apartment, I tried several possibilities to improve the weak signal I was catching. This ranged from hanging out the window with antennas and wifi adapters to commercial antenna amplifiers. But nothing really boosted the signal to an acceptable rate. And building a tin can antenna like described on many internet sites still seemed too complicated, since it forced you to go and buy special plugs and cabling (although cheap). Smoother Mouse Cursor
If you have a PS/2 mouse and you know for a fact that the trackball is clean, you can make your mouse cursor operate more smoothly. Here's how...

1. Click "Start -> Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager".
2. Click on "+" symbol next to "Mice" and then right-click your mouse device and select "Properties".
3. Click on the "Advanced Settings" tab and then change the "Sample Rate" to "200".

There! Now you'll enjoy smoother mouse response. Remember, this only works with PS/2 style mice and it won't correct an erratic cursor caused by a dirty trackball.
