Hear Ye! Hear Ye!
Sometimes we have special sales, important notices about virus outbreaks or other technical bulletins. Call 830-895-5016 if you're interested in any sale items we might list here. But please click here to read our disclaimer before visiting any third-party websites.

VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!
Beginning with this week's issue you will NOT be able to just hit your "Reply" button if you want to comment about anything in this newsletter. This is because I'm setting it up on a new subscription-based software called "MailMan" powered by Python and direct replies will be restricted. So instead of hitting your email's "Reply" button, I've placed a new click-link near the top of this newsletter called "Reply to". It's located just above our sponsorship ad-spots. That click-link will launch an independent email window for any comments or inquiries you want to submit.

Sober Worm Alert!
Make sure your anti-virus software is completely up-to-date before January 5, 2006. Check out the full alert article here and mark your calendars to check your Windows computer's anti-virus status. You'll need to ensure that your virus definition files are up-to-date, not just your subscription status, otherwise your PC could fall victim to the Sober Worm.

Web Hosting Tips
Do you have a domain website hosting account with us?  If so, you'll want to check this section for handy tips to help make your website standout from the crowd.  Sometimes we'll give tips about working with your Plesk Control Panel. But please click here to read our disclaimer before visiting any third-party websites.

How To Hide Your Email Address From Spammers
There are a couple of ways to hide your email addresses listed on your website from spammers' automatic email harvesting software. The first way is to use this simple javascript in your website's HTML code at the insertion point where you want to place an email click-link...

<script language="Javascript">
<!--
var name = "account"
var domain = "yourdomain.com"
var realname = "The Click-Link Text"
document.write("<a href='mailto:" + name + "@" + domain + "'>")
document.write(realname)
document.write("</a>")
//-->
</script>

Simply replace the "account" variable with the part of your email address that shows up in front of the "@" symbol, replace the "yourdomain.com" variable with the part of your email address that shows up after the "@" symbol and finally, replace the "The Click-Link Text" variable with the text you want your readers to click to generate an email.

The only drawback to this javascript method is when an internet reader has completely turned off their browser's response to javascript. Therefore, you might want consider including a notation that they'll need to enable javascript before they can click your link to send you an email. Or you can try one of my favorite second methods...

Creative Elements Powertools
Here is a website I stumbled across that contains an awesome utilities suite of powertools for Windows. Some of the functions of these utilities can be emulated by performing a few registry hacks but why risk it when someone else has already written a powertool utility for you. This one is definitely on my recommended list for power users...

Sage Upon The Wind

We've been here many times before,
and here we stand again.
Gazing at the distant shores,
our journey never ends.

We're flying through the universe,
inside creative dreams.
Our moment through eternity,
nothing's ever as it seems.
