Yes!! You Can Use osCommerce
Shopping Cart With PayPal and USPS! Recently
I was asked if osCommerce could be used on a non-SSL (secure
socket layers) secured website using PayPal as the SSL
secure credit card processor and using the United States Postal Service
as the shipping vendor. The answer, I am happy to report is a
resounding "Yes"! So we set out to install our own on-line store under
those conditions and to document some of the installation processes and
configuration settings.
I am in the process of
recording this project in a new help file called "Getting
Started With osCommerce".
Using this guide, you can start your own osCommerce
shopping cart on your Bright
Ideas Computing hosted domain website account. For more information and
to get a feel for what osCommerce looks like, you can refer to the
following links... http://www.bictx.com/oscommerce.html http://www.bictx.com/shop/

Develop
Your Own Software Applications With Gambas Gambas
is a graphical development environment
based on a Basic interpreter, like MS Visual Basic. It uses the Qt
toolkit, but is able to use any other toolkit for which a module is
written.
With Gambas, you can quickly design your program
GUI, access MySQL
or PostgreSQL databases, pilot KDE applications with DCOP, translate
your program into many languages, and so on...

The Lead Out And Speed Up Your Start Menu!Is
your Windows XP Start menu annoyingly slow? Well there's a way to
really speed it up but this requires a minor registry hack. So if
you're careful and already familiar with using the registry editor, you
can juice up your Start menu's performance with just a few mouse
clicks. But
please click
here to
read our disclaimer before
attempting this hack. 1. Open the Registry Editor...
Start -> Run
-> Type "regedit" in Run -> Click Ok
2.
Click "File -> Export", choose a backup name and location to
save your registry. 3. Select the "All"
radio button in the "Export Range" section and then click the "Save"
button. 4. Navigate to and
highlight HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop. 5.
Double-click the MenuShowDelay item. The default value is 400
and represents the number of milliseconds of delay before the
Start menu will open its menu lists.
6.
Change the numeric value from 400 to anything less. Setting this value
to "0" will eliminate the delay altogether but I like a more
comfortable setting of about "200".
7.
Click Ok and close the Registry Editor. 8. Log off
and then log back in and test the new speed of your Start Menu. There!
Now you should enjoy a faster and more responsive Start Menu.

chance happeneth to them all." ~Ecclesiastes 9:11
