How Can I Stop Those Pesky Read Receipts In Linspire Linux?
Recently I was asked how to stop those annoying messages that ask if an email read receipt should be sent. Personally, I don't like them because they are an invasion of privacy. I think the only place they should be used is in a corporate or legal work environment. Here's how to disable sending a read receipt while getting rid of the associated and annoying pop-up window if you're using the default email client (Mozilla) in Linspire Linux ...

1. Open your email client.
2. Click menu "Edit -> Mail and Newsgroup Account Settings".
3. Select the "Return Receipts" category.
4. Select the "Customize return receipts for this account" radio button.
5. Select the "Never send a return receipt" radio button.
6. Do not check the "When sending messages, always request a return receipt".
7. Click the "OK" button.
8. Close and then restart your email client.
