Welcome to another issue of our weekly newsletter!
No
one can dispute that the human brain is the greatest computer of all
time! But sometimes it requires a little nudge to grow new cells. I also happen to
believe that hardware computers are very useful tools which can
help to provide that nudge. That's why this
newsletter is not just full of computer related information, but also
includes entertainment and educational items to tickle the brain cells.
Feel free to pass this issue along
if you find something worthy to share with your friends, family, and
acquaintances. Don't forget that you can also call on us at 895-5016
when your next computer problem strikes.

Remove Your Personal Information From Google (heldover by request) Is
your name, address and telephone number listed in Google? Some folks
don't want their information listed for privacy reasons. You can
find out if you are listed by going to www.google.com and typing one of
the following search strings into the "Search" field...
"Your Name" +texas (use quotes around your name and insert your State)or type your telephone number like this...
555-555-1234 (substituting your own) This
may result in your full name, address, telephone number and several
internet mapping services that provide an online map straight to your
house. Think of the implications to your privacy.
If you want to
remove this information from Google, simply click on the link called
"Phonebook Removal Form" or go to this website URL and fill out the
removal form. I hear that it takes about 48 hours for your information to be removed.

You Can Find All Sorts of Things on Google Earth! Even
a World War II British Lancaster bomber in flight. Apparently this chap

Where Do Languages Come From? "We
don't ask ourselves where languages come from because they just seem to
be there: French in France, English in England, Chinese in China,
Japanese in Japan, and so forth. Yet if we go back only a few thousand
years, none of these languages were spoken in their respective
countries and indeed none of these languages existed anywhere in the
world. Where did they all come from?" Click here to read entire
article... http://www.exploratorium.edu/exploring/language/language_article1.html
Toward a Quantum Computer, One Dot at a Time "Researchers
at the University of Pittsburgh have developed a way to create
semiconductor islands smaller than 10 nanometers in scale, known as
quantum dots. The islands, made from germanium and placed on the
surface of silicon with two-nanometer precision, are capable of
confining single electrons." Click here to read entire article... http://www.physorg.com/news10039.html
Do Animals Love Each Other? "Bellowing
pitifully, the baby elephant sounds terrified. She and her mother, Ma
Shwe, have been wading in the upper Taungdwin River, in what is now
Myanmar, in Southeast Asia, when they are caught in a flash flood. Ma
Shwe's feet still touch the ground, so she tries to clamp her baby to
her side with her trunk. But the swirling water sweeps her calf away!"
